Documents Required for Fingerprinting Service Appointment
When attending a fingerprinting service appointment, ensuring you have the correct documents is essential to avoid delays or rescheduling. Here's a checklist of what you need to bring:
1. Two Valid Pieces of Identification (IDs)
You must provide two forms of government-issued identification. These IDs must be valid (not expired) and meet the criteria set by the service provider.

As per RCMP requirements:

SIN Card, and Credit Card are NOT acceptable.

ONLY original IDs or certified copies (as secondary ID only) are accepted. One of the two IDs has to have the applicant’s photo and signature on it.
2. Request Letter, Email, or Instructions
If the fingerprinting is being conducted for a specific purpose, such as an RCMP background check, visa application, or employment screening, you will need to bring:

The request letter or email from the requesting organization.

Any reference numbers or instructions provided by the organization.
Examples Include:

A letter from your employer requesting a background check for employment.

Instructions from IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) for immigration or citizenship applications.

Additional Recommendations
